Quick post here to add a card for this week's Make It Monday - Heat Embossing.
I'm trying to think ahead and used the opportunity to make a Mother's Day card. I love the Year of Flowers series and have been thinking about trying to color the rose like a Peace Rose - yellow tipped in pink. Well, I worked on it and this is what I came up with.
It's my mother's favorite rose. Grandpa used to grow them. But she and I have no luck whatsoever.
I started by stamping the rose in Smokey Shadow and heat embossing with Filigree clear powder on white cardstock. The background is A Little Argyle, overstamped with Turning a New leaf embossed with Filigree white. The sentiment is from Fillable Frames #4. The rose is colored with Copics. I added a white silk leaf.
Not much time tonight. Hope you're having a good weekend. Thanks for dropping by.

Linda, I don't know much about roses or gardening or any of that, but I recognized your Peace rose right away! Lovely job coloring it, and just really lovely overall!
Linda you did an excellent job on coloring the Peach Rose. The card is beautiful.

Lovely! Look at the shading on that rose! I find yellow such a tricky color to work with, but you did an amazing job!
